BRIANNA BELLA-HYMAN
Curious skeptic. Using systems thinking and deep tech to help us navigate the world's wicked problems.
I like complex problems, cross-industry thinking, and trying to build things that might actually move the needle.
My brain defaults to systems thinking (often against its own will), so I end up pulled toward the overlap of tech, policy, and human behavior. I’m geekily entertained by big, messy problems—food systems, healthcare—and spend a lot of time connecting dots that may or may not be asking to be connected. Possibly due to an overactive ADHD complex, but sometimes it's useful.

Right now, I’m especially hellbent on fixing our food and healthcare systems, which are…not exactly thriving. In practice, that means I’m CEO of Hyman Health, building a functional health ecosystem that helps people take more ownership over their health, and a Board Member of the Food Fix Campaign, a think tank trying to untangle some of the more questionable incentives driving food and healthcare policy in D.C.
Before this, I spent a good chunk of my career in energy and climate finance—trying to make sense of the energy transition. I co-founded and ran Reneum, a climate investment platform that launched one of the first renewable energy–backed tokens, based on the premise that alternative financial systems might help democratize clean energy investing.

I’ve worked across blockchain, energy markets, and sustainable finance—doing things like deal sourcing, carbon strategy, and supporting parts of Asia’s energy transition, as well as advising a handful of clean energy initiatives.

My background is a slightly eclectic mix of finance, sustainability, and deep tech. I started in more traditional lanes—M&A and private equity advisory at some of the OG institutions—before veering into more experimental territory. My favourite was advising the UNDP on deep-tech innovation in Southeast Asia, helping identify technologies that might actually scale.

I hold a degree in Behavioral Economics from McGill University and a Master’s in Environmental Science from Oxford University, and am currently studying Public Health Policy at Columbia University, in pursuits of my PhD. But I'm hardly an academic (and a terrible student), so most of what I’ve learned has come from building things, breaking things, and figuring shit out along the way.
I’ve lived and worked across six continents, and when I’m not deep in research or visioning a better future, I’m probably chasing adventure—biohacking, adventure sports, or finding new ways to push any boundaries I can find. Whether in health, sustainability, or innovation, I’m here to challenge the status quo, build what’s missing, and have a damn good time doing it.

On a mission to help everyone become the CEO of their own health.
